Divorce Law Must Be Good…
It used to be that personal injury was where all the money was in the legal field but, from what I’m seeing, divorce law is highly profitable right now. At work, we’ve picked up a number of clients focused on family law - specifically getting divorced & settling child custody cases. Is anyone surprised any more?
Divorce cases are getting more and more contentious, making TV headlines quite often. Take, for example, the big-name divorce lawyer in Long Island who’s been on TV55 a number of times… he has no problem drumming up business. The word “franchise” is even coming up when considering ways to get divorced. Firms are now branching out with offices in multiple cities, like DivorceLawyersofArizona.com, DivorceLawyersofDallas.com, DivorceLawyersofDenver.com, DivorceLawyersofPortland.com and others. McDivorce anyone?
Really, I have no point in rambling on about lawyers who capitalize on the increasing number of Americans who are divorcing. It is interesting to see the “industry” grow and begin to take advantage of economies of scale and real world marketing. (Oh and, by the way, not all divorce lawyers are awful people.)

Divorce rate in the United States is 54.8%, next after Sweden. There is a lot of growth opportunity for lawyers in Sweden, USA and Belarus. Think about countries like Japan (divorce rate 1.9%), Sri Lanka (divorce rate 1.5%) and India (divorce rate 1.1%). I think just like many growing multi national companies there is a business prospect in the area of divorce too. USA can open McDivorce chains and countries with less divorce rates can have divorce education call centers
